Witchsona Week 2016! Took a break from drawing the witch and kitty familiar from my film to draw myself as a witch with my kitty familiar. Basically just my cat if he was a bit purply-er and magically-er.

Making a film!
A quick update!
I'm really bad at posting here regularly, but I'm pretty active on twitter and instagram! So if you wanted to see more stuff from me, my instagram is alioxinfri and my twitter is @Sprickles. I'm also on tumblr and deviantart as alioxinfri too. I'll try to keep this updated as well but if you don't want to miss things, those are all the places I'm posting stuff!
Anyways!
Well, I'm into my fourth year at Sheridan FINALLY and I'm making my film! It's pretty underway now and I'm spending most of my time on it so I'll probably mostly be posting film stuff for the rest of the year. I'll get a bunch of stuff together to post soon but I'm just on my way out the door so here's the fastest thing I can grab, some colour concepts for Linaria's look in the film.

Had the idea for this comic the other day. Needed to get it out. It's more of an expression than something to be taken too seriously.
Still trying to work on not thinking too much about unnecessary things before moving forward with an idea, Still working on visual storytelling.

One of the first video games I ever played by myself was Lara Croft. Ok, so it was in a store on a display computer and I was just a dumb kid and didn't at all know what I was doing... and I only played for like 10 minutes but still. I didn't even remember all that until I was older and playing Tomb Raider for the first time properly and I realized wait... I've done this before!
I love Lara Croft, classic and reboot! But I wanted to draw the braid... and the dual pistols.
All I'm saying is Rise of the Tomb Raider better have dual pistols....
seriously...

Lady Knights all day everyday
When I'm not drawing anything else, I am probably drawing Lady Knights.
P.S. I'll get some better, not-cell-phone-pics images onto this blog at some point but I haven't been posting a lot here and I thought that hey, cell phone pics are better than nothing! I am alive and drawing!! If anyone's interested in seeing all the little things I post, I'm more active on my Instagram (@alioxinfri) and my Twitter (@Sprickles)!
Linaria, the Poncho Witch
A few months ago I drew this doodle to test out some new markers I bought. A cute witch in a riding poncho. She became my go-to doodle character. The more I drew her and bought about her, the more she developed a personality. As her personality changed, I felt the need to try out different styles for her. I've done a lot of doodles of this Poncho Witch and she finally has a name, or at least a first name: Linaria! I am really bad at naming things so I'm glad I finally have something else to call her besides "Poncho Witch" though I'm not totally abandoning that title.
Anyways, here are some of my sketches of Linaria (Lin for short)
I played around with lots of different looks and I'm sure she'll continue to evolve a bit, but I think below is the design I like the best.
As I drew her, a story started playing out in my head and I hope I can develop that story into a webcomic. It will be an interesting challenge for me and I dunno, maybe some other people will enjoy it as well.

who started it?
One semester down and I can do personal art again, for recreation and not as procrastination!
I was just playing around in manga studio and trying to readjust to my little bamboo tablet. I feel like I always draw the same expressions so I'm gonna try and do some more variation. Before I knew what had happened, I had ended up drawing myself and my best friend as Hogwarts students.
(The expressions are unrelated to each other, though it does look as if we're having some sort of argument haha...)

Old Doodle Marcie
I was organizing some of the mess that is my computer filing system and I found an old doodle of Marceline wearing very PB colours and some snazzy cowboy boots!

Xena, Warrior Princess
Xena was the Sketch Dailies topic the other day and I couldn't resist. It's hard to capture Lucy Lawless's amazing intensity but I gave it a try haha! It's refreshing to do something more realistic and less cartoony. Just drawing/painting what you see.
I feel like I'd like to do some more to this, add some sense of background...

A creature comic
By coincidence (maybe..?) here's another comic. This was a really really fun assignment for school. I had so much more planned for this comic but I had to really reel myself in and try to go simpler because of time restraints (to varying degrees of success). I had planned to go into more detail on this once it was handed in but I think I like it enough this way to leave it alone for a while longer... while I do some more work on my portfolio and our 3rd year film.
I like making comics.

Group Film stuff part 2
![]() |
| A poster design concept for our film "Chital" |

| Stag and Doe Productions, fantastic logo. |
Pitch Package is handed in and it looks pretty great. We ended up having a lot of stuff so it was hard to pick which concept pieces to put in but I guess that's a pretty great problem to have. But our visual development stage is far from over so I doodled a BG idea for our film. I'm not really a layout person so I just did something simple and mostly focused on colour theory (and just generally played around in photoshop). I'm always embarrassed by my mediocre layouts and had doing them/sharing them... but you can't improve if you don't keep trying. Right?

Group Film stuff part1.
3rd year well under way. Group film stuff going pretty good, in my opinion. We're in major development stage now.
Sketches of our heroine, who may or may not be called Pavarti (I call her Pav).
One of our very talented group mates did a unified character sketch based on our multiple designs (to help the boards look more unified) and I felt like giving version01_Pav a try:
I'm planning on adding colour when I get a chance. Now I'm off to my last shift in a minimum wage position... hopefully forever.

Marko Fan Art
I've been looking to my favourite comic for inspiration. Why doesn't everyone read "Saga"(by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples) it's so incredibly and beautifully illustrated!
Read it!

A little preview
Oh man, isn't this crazy?! I've been working on something the last few days and it's really exciting and pretty cool to see it coming together. It's a webcomic I'm working on with my boyfriend. I feel like I'm a really slow worker but I'm also figuring out this new software at the same time so maybe I'll be able to pick up the pace once I know my way around Manga Studio a bit better.
The comic doesn't have a name yet but it's a SciFi story, which is very new to me (usually more of a fantasy, supernatural girl myself). I hope to have something for people to read really soon, as soon as I'm able!

True Blood doodle
I've been rewatching True Blood lately... Until yesterday when the DVD player in my old TV/DVD/VCR finally just stopped working... While I was watching the last episode of season 1... DVD players are cheap now, right?
Anyways, I doodled a Bill Compton the other day.

Fire guy doodle
A doodle of a fire guy with fire hair. Playing around with colouring technique.
Why do I always notice things I want to change just as I'm posting?
