who started it?

One semester down and I can do personal art again, for recreation and not as procrastination!

I was just playing around in manga studio and trying to readjust to my little bamboo tablet.  I feel like I always draw the same expressions so I'm gonna try and do some more variation.  Before I knew what had happened, I had ended up drawing myself and my best friend as Hogwarts students.

(The expressions are unrelated to each other, though it does look as if we're having some sort of argument haha...)

Old Doodle Marcie

I was organizing some of the mess that is my computer filing system and I found an old doodle of Marceline wearing very PB colours and some snazzy cowboy boots!

Xena, Warrior Princess

Xena was the Sketch Dailies topic the other day and I couldn't resist.  It's hard to capture Lucy Lawless's amazing intensity but I gave it a try haha! It's refreshing to do something more realistic and less cartoony.  Just drawing/painting what you see.

I feel like I'd like to do some more to this, add some sense of background...

A creature comic

By coincidence (maybe..?) here's another comic.  This was a really really fun assignment for school.  I had so much more planned for this comic but I had to really reel myself in and try to go simpler because of time restraints (to varying degrees of success).  I had planned to go into more detail on this once it was handed in but I think I like it enough this way to leave it alone for a while longer... while I do some more work on my portfolio and our 3rd year film.

I like making comics.

Group Film stuff part 2

A poster design concept for our film "Chital"
From here on out all group film stuff will be labeled "Chital" since that's the working title for our film.  Or maybe "Stag and Doe productions" since that's our production name. I designed our logo.
Stag and Doe Productions, fantastic logo.

Pitch Package is handed in and it looks pretty great. We ended up having a lot of stuff so it was hard to pick which concept pieces to put in but I guess that's a pretty great problem to have.  But our visual development stage is far from over so I doodled a BG idea for our film.  I'm not really a layout person so I just did something simple and mostly focused on colour theory (and just generally played around in photoshop).  I'm always embarrassed by my mediocre layouts and had doing them/sharing them... but you can't improve if you don't keep trying. Right?
